Refund policy
Effective Date: October 14, 2025
At A & E Bowery Lighting, we sell new products only and we want the return/refund process to be clear and predictable. This policy explains how returns, refunds, and exchanges work for purchases made from our store.
1) Where this policy applies
This policy applies to orders purchased and delivered within the United States.
- U.S. returns only.
- International orders/returns are not supported.
2) Return window (30 days)
You may request a return or exchange within 30 days of:
- the delivery date (for shipped orders), or
- the purchase date on your receipt (for in-store purchases).
Requests made after 30 days are not eligible.
3) What we accept
We accept returns for both defective and non-defective products, and we accept exchanges.
Non-defective returns/exchanges (change of mind):
Items must be returned in new condition, meaning:
- unused / not installed
- with original packaging and included parts/accessories/manuals if applicable
- in a condition suitable for resale as new
Defective or damaged items:
If something arrives defective or is damaged, contact us within the return window and include your order info and photos (if applicable). We will review the case and confirm the appropriate resolution under this policy.
Proof of purchase is required (order confirmation email, receipt, or order number).
4) Return methods: By mail or In-store
You can return or exchange in either of these ways:
A) By Mail (Approval required)
Step 1: Start your request (Email us first)
Email support@aebowerylighting.us within 30 days with:
- Order number
- Item name(s) / SKU (if available)
- Reason for return/exchange
- Photos (required for damaged/defective claims and strongly recommended for packaging damage)
Step 2: We review and reply (Approved or Not Approved)
We will reply by email with one of the following outcomes:
If your return is APPROVED
Our email will include:
- Return Authorization (RA) confirmation (so your return is tracked properly)
- A return shipping label template / shipping label instructions for you to print and attach to the package
- The return address you must ship to:

Important:
- Return shipping label/shipping cost is the customer's responsibility.
- You may purchase postage using the carrier/service of your choice (commonly USPS or UPS).
- Please ship only after you receive our approval email, so your package is properly logged and processed.
If your return is NOT APPROVED
Our email will clearly state the reason, such as:
- Request submitted after the 30-day window
- Item is not in new condition for a non-defective return (used/installed/missing parts/packaging)
- Missing proof of purchase (order number/receipt)
- Insufficient information to validate a defect/damage claim (e.g., missing required photos)
If we need more information instead of rejecting, we'll ask for it in the same email (photos, missing order details, etc.).
Step 3: Pack & ship (after approval)
- Pack the item securely, ideally in the original packaging with all parts/accessories.
- Print and attach the label as instructed.
- Ship to the return address above.
- Keep your shipping receipt/tracking until your case is closed.
Return shipping / label cost: Customer responsibility (you pay return shipping).
Please do not mail items back without contacting us first, so your return can be tracked and processed correctly.
B) In-Store
You may return or exchange eligible items in person at:

Bring your proof of purchase (receipt/order confirmation).
5) Fees
- Restocking fee: $0 (no cost)
- Return shipping label: Customer responsibility (if returning by mail)
6) Refunds
After we receive and inspect your return, we process approved refunds within 5 business days.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
- Your bank/card provider may take additional time to post the funds after we process it.
7) Exchanges
Exchanges are accepted within the same 30-day window.
- For mail exchanges: customer is responsible for return shipping.
- For in-store exchanges: bring the item and proof of purchase.
- If there is a price difference, we will handle the difference at the time of exchange (charge or refund accordingly).
